Martial arts are an ancient practice initially meant for self-defense & combat. Today, lots of people worldwide train in martial arts to build physical and mental strength.

There are many different martial arts types with a focus on striking and blocking or wrestling and grappling.
All disciplines use planned, repeated movements & focus on the connection between mind and body. It's proven, that Martial arts help boost kid's self-control and focus

The Benefits of Martial Arts for Kids.

There are lots of reasons martial arts is a good match for kids with diversified activities. With a fast-paced lifestyle and various distractions, focus and discipline have never been as important in child development as today.

  • We focus on individual growth in the team setting. Many kids struggle with the pressure of competing with other kids. In martial arts, the focus is on self-improvement. There’s no “letting down the team.”

  • Kids work toward specific goals. Some kids learn and think differently and may feel like they never “win” at anything. In martial arts, kids work at their own pace. They earn a different colored belt every time they reach a new skill level. Martial arts training can and will boost self-esteem and keep them motivated.

  • Routines are broken down into chunks. A technique or form in martial arts can have dozens of different movements. Kids learn gradually, repeating and adding steps as they go.

  • They learn to anticipate which step comes next and exercise predictive thinking that contributes to time management & eventually, they put everything together into the fluid routine.

  • We emphasize self-control and concentration. Attention is vital to the learning experience.  Kids have to "stay focused to learn and learn how to stay focused". When a child’s focus drifts, instructors help them to reset.

  • One of the essential topics we address is coordination. Training, helps kids get a better feel for their bodies in space and improves motor skills. It helps in understanding the power of the mind over the body.

  • We provide structure. The Dojo has clear rules and we continuously reinforce them. We emphasize good behavior in and out of class.

Training is a safe way for kids to get extra energy out. While there is a myth that martial arts encourage violent behavior, in fact, we teach that violence should be used as a last resort. Simultaneously, punching, kicking, "rolling", and other activities let kids work out frustration or other negativity while practicing self-control.

It’s an accepting environment.

  • Respect is a core value in martial arts. Kids have to show it to their instructor and their peers. Negativity is generally not tolerated in class, and students are encouraged to support each other.

  • Kids have a much easier time integrating into new environments, as lots of their peers think martial arts are simply cool! It’s hard not to feel special when you’re kicking and punching,  breaking boards in halves like a superhero.

  • Early on, kids understand that they are a part of a thousand-year-old tradition; our instructors teach as a part of the training

  • Kids are now in a Dojo ( "place of the Way") to assure a constructive learning atmosphere & supporting environment.
